1. Please introduce yourself.

helloooo! my name is sabé. i was born in '00 and my favorite color is red.

2. How long have you been making websites?

honestly i've been fooling around with html/css as a hobby for many, many years. i think my first taste of it was editing xanga layouts back in 2008 or 2009, when i was far too young to be fiddling with that stuff LMAO

3. And what got you into the hobby?

i'm a younger sibling and i just wanted to copy everything my older sibling did, and that included everything they did online

4. What kind of website are you most interested in?

i love sites that are just collections of someone's personal interests and hobbies. i think it's so interesting to see, it's like a lil glimpse into someone else's mind!

5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?

tbh i just wing it as i go along, which is probably why i struggle so much and tend to give up on layouts when i'm halfway through.

6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.

she's no longer on the internet, but middlepot was a big inspo for me. i would also say sites like whimsical and espy.world! i love colors :]

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?

seeing the finished product!!! lol.

8. And the thing you struggle with the most?

nailing down a specific vision i have in mind when said vision requires more javascript knownledge than i have in my brain (which is little)

9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?

my current layout is for all my non-image heavy pages, but maybe in the future that will change. but i do think having specific layouts for pages that are about one specific subject is fun!

center, because i still believe in her, even if modern HTML wants to phase her out!!

13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?

make my centered main column! love a good center column.

just barely...

i want to learn it but i have no time atm

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?

the main section kind of does. its currently centered around the nice ornate frame you see surrounding the main container.

17. Are you more focused on content or design?

content for now

18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?

yes!!! i want to self-host everything. i think it's so chic.

19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?

i enjoy them!! mostly because the ealry 2000s is the web i grew up with, so it does take me back to my youth LOL

20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

the validity of my html is between the internet and yaoi jesus, not me

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?

LOVEEE even if they don't match the vibe of the page they lead to, it's an easy way to see a glimpse of someone's tastes!

22. What do you think of button walls in particular?

they're like treasure troves of fun to me.

23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?

i would probably start with the basics instead of just diving in head first and learning as i go along

24. Are you envious of other people's websites?

sometimes LMAO especially when they're very beautiful and full of elements that are all cohesive and have a beautiful color pallette. i struggle a lot with making things look put together.

25. What text editor do you use?

visual code studio, though i used to use c++ for .php stuff.

26. Why do you use that one?

all the video tutorials i watched said it was the easiest one to pick up and learn.

27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?

combination of both! selfhost for all images that are just static on my site, and catbox.moe for things like buttons that link out.

28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?

to each their own! i just got settled in on neocoties. i think more host options is a good thing, though.

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?

PSSSASSH less than a gb

30. Do you keep local backups of your files?

i do, but they aren't very neatly kept;;;

31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?

i suppose i should say simple, as i get headaches often and sometimes cannot even look at some visually intense websites, but, man, sometimes a color overload is beautiful.

32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?

i do for the sake of simplicity.

33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?

the initial hurdle of setting everything up and making all my layouts the exact way i want sometimes feels like an insurmountable task I'll never be able to nail down.

34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?

hm... its mostly a solitary hobby for me. something i do for myself, by myself.

35. Do people in your real life know about your website?

no, i don't talk about it. i want it to be for myself.

36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?

right now, im averaging a couple times a month, which im okay with right now.

37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?

no, simply because i am lazy LMAO.

38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?

right now, it is very me-focused, but i would like to slowly add my hobbies in.

nah, I don't think I'd ever reach a point where i would consider my skills worthy of monitization. im currently studying to do work relating to medicare patient advocacy.

not a whole lot!

42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?

i do, but im slowly trying to reduce the amount i use it.

43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?

i am reachable on discord practically 24/7

44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?

i actually listen to a lot of true crime videos while i code.

45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?

just one website! though i have a whole host of abandoned websites I've left across the web.

46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?

47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?

i go by a pseudonym on here, but for the most part, this is my real self.

48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?

nope! but im not opposed to it ^^

49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?

ough.

50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?

copy and pasting huge swathes of code from people. not only can the argument for plagerism be made, it's also just bad practice! not all codes will just work together, you gotta work everything from the ground up.

51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?

not copying other people's code, but studying it!

52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?

generic structure till i die

53. Do you consider different browsers?

nah. should i? LOL

54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.

i use brave just because i like the privacy features. i stopped using firefox for that exact reason, and chrome is evil

55. And what OS are you on?

windows. i wish i were a linux guy, but im just not.

56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?

i just happen to use it. maybe some day that'll change.

57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?

not currently.

58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?

i've always hated it personally, but it's not like it's the end of the world if someone has it on their site.

59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?

LOVE webrings. its a great way to find people with similar interests!

60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?

i want to make some for my ocs and my favorite characters!! i like seeing character lore, maybe the development of them, official art, and even personal essays from people on why they love the character.

61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?

i... don't know? lol

62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?

my ideal website is just one that is full of complete pages and doesn't have any broken links... so mine it definitely not that.

63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?

i'm trying to get more into asset making and drawing, but i'm mostly a writer.

div obsessed. i cant stop making and nesting divs, even if it fucks up the site

there are no rule for your creative vision- go crazy.

67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?

i hardcode some because sometimes i end up making some fuck-shit in my html that won't respond to what i do in my css file.

68. What do you think of frameset layouts?

really usefull for segmenting out a site

yes, it makes it easier to layout designs

html, because i love linking shit.

i had an update long once that was 0 ccs. it's kina fun just because you don't feel constrained at ALL

i only make them as the need for them arises, i'm too lazy to just make them for fun, lol

not a total beginner, but i'm definitely not advanced. more like... three steps before the middle.

75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?

only if a site really dazzles me with it's design.

76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?

using templates and w3bschools!

77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?

they can make for really cute and fun designs

79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?

px, because it's just what i started out doing, but i think fr is more useful.

ms gothic! it feels very old web to me.

81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?

hm... only if they're fine doing all the heavy coding lifting and i can just have fun making lists and content, LOL

82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?

whenever i feel the urge to use tiktok or instagram reels.

i always bookmark fun websites, i think i would be flattered if someone liked my site enough to bookmark it.

84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?

that i have stuff to look at and im not just another empty site left abandoned on the web.

i collect video game consoles!

i go to school online, so outside of my job, i'm online every day for hours.

anyone above the age of 18? lol.

nope!

i don't have the skills for that right now.

90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?

this site runs on 11ty! it is really a god send when it comes making multiple pages and having all links functioning on them without needing to update every single one.

91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?

i forgot to put one in, and now i'm just too lazy. HAH

92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?

i frequent den of angels, even though i don't own a bjd currently. i would love to one day, though.

93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?

directly in the editor, because im nuts.

94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?

if they think that way, they shouldn't. im just a internet-obsessed loser.

95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?

i'm definitely guilty of doing this, especially with my old fanfiction, but i regret doing it now. i like looking back on it and seeing just how far i've come.

96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?

probably just leave an archive up, i hate erasing things i put so much time into.

97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?

i'm definitely a more private person, but i think this website is a little look into my soul.

98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?

if they had a website, sure, but neither of them do.

not really... again, im so lazy, LMAOOOO
