PSA: My rating guide is geared toward books specifically, but I apply the same general ideas for any kind of media I consume. I just happen to read books the most.

	I give five stars to anything that genuinely blows me away, or anything I know I will find myself coming back to time and time again. These are works I would emphatically recommend to anyone that either asks me what I like or wants to get to know me. For this reason, I don't give them out all too often, but know I treasure my five stars very much!
	Four stars are for genuinely good pieces of work that I either nitpick too much to give a full five stars or it just didn't blow me away like those works did. I could enjoy them just for the characters, the plot, or the technical style, but not for everything together as a complete piece of work. These are still incredible works I would recommend, ones that I'm confident could be five stars for other people, but just not my personal favorites. These are also works I would come back to in the future.
	I consider three stars to be a GOOD rating. In my heart, a three star piece of work is an average work. It isn't the best, it isn't the worse. There might be some annoying parts of it, or it might suffer from just being a little boring. I give three stars out to things I enjoyed, but may not remember in the long term. Anything above this rating is incredible, and anything below gets more and more mediocre.
	Two stars is where my overall opinion of a piece of work begins to fall. At this point, I'm not enjoying the work, but I still toughed it out until the end for one reason or another. I usually give this rating to things I have a lot of grievances with and genuinely didn't like, but have a hard time saying that I "hated" it. You could consider this the "dissapointing" tier.
	I try to DNF anything before it gets to this point, but if I finish a work and genuinely hated it and anything that happened, I give it a one star. I've gotten good about DNF'ing anything I know I'm not going to like, but if there is some cruel neuron in my brain thats forcing me to power through for the laughs, this is what it will get.
	I usually do not give out zero stars on purpose. This is usually for anything I have DNF'd because I can't rate a partial experience. This is like... a liminal rating...
